I’m still honestly REALLY confused about the points system. It’s bad enough that I suck at math but I want at least an A or B+ out of this class. I plan to create engaging posts and responses in this class.

My Life Begins Now

The new syllabus is amazing I love it compared to our old one. This might help me receive a DECENT GRADE. My plans for each period:

March 4- March 24

Field Trip#1,  Exam#1, 3 audio project,  present/tutorial #1=115

March 25- April 10

Field Trip#2, Critique #1, Service#1, 4 audio project= 120

April 11- May 5

2 audio project, comments, present/tutorial#2, critique #2= 110

May 6- May 20

Service#2, audio project, Exam#2= 65

Random 5 days Attendance = 25

I do not want to say how much I want to receive at the end I want it to be a SURPRISE if you don’t mind. I will say I do want an An A or B in this class. 🙂

Bonus Points!

After looking through the syllabus I really liked what I was seeing. Below is my plan for how I’m going to go on with the rest of the semester!

March 4th – March 24 :

3 audio Projects , Critique #1 ,Field Trip #1 = 85 points

March 25th – April 11:

Presentaton /Tutorial#1 , Critique #2 ,Service # 1 , 3 Audio Projects = 105 points

April 11th – May 5th :

Presentaton /Tutorial#2 ,Field Trip #2, 3 Audio Projects   =85 points

May 5th -May 20th

Comments, 1 Audio Project ,Service#2 = 75 points

* Random Attendance – 25 points

My goal is to achieve an A in this class. After adding up my total I would achieve that with doing all of the blog posts leaving me at a total of 622 points

Let’s Start Over!

For the remaining of the semester I have came up with a plan on what I think I would do in order to pass the class with an A.

March 4- March 24:
– 3 Audio Projects = 45pts
– Field Trip #1 = 20pts
– Critique #1 = 20 pts

March 25- April 10:
– 3 Audio Projects = 45 pts
– Service #1 = 20 pts
– Critique #2 = 20 pts
– Present/Tutorial #1 = 20 pts

April 11- May 5:
-3 Audio Projects = 45pts
– Field Trip #2 = 20 pts
– Comments = 40 pts

May 6- May 20:
– 1 Audio Project = 15pts
– Present/ Tutorial #2 (group)= 25
– Service #2 = 20pts

*BONUS POINTS*
– Random Attendance (5 Days)= 25 pts

My Total points also including my blogs for each project would be 622 pts, which would give me an A in this class!

Reset – Hit the Button, Cycle the Power

Look to your email from soundmap for a link to the Google for editing and commenting. If you somehow don’t get the email comment on this post. And I make sure you get it.

Technical ground to cover

Recording Voice
Basics of Editing using ProTools/Audacity – cutting voice, mixing music, and sound-on-tape.
Physics of Sound and the Digital Version – Waves vs. Samples, Amplitude vs. Bit Depth
We need to show a more sophisticated listen skill.

Ways to show a deep understanding of all of the above

Projects – DS106 audio assignments for ideas, Tutorials, dramatic re-reading of poem, script, play, etc. (

Tests/Quizes – Individual and/or group tests & quizes.

Reflective Blog Posts

Way to Asses your work

Each project, test, blog post is going have a point value. And we set the level of quality for each. If you don’t earn at least 50% for a particular item, then you get zero points for that item.

A potential plan for points:

Tests (1-4) 30 pts each?
Posts (0-5) 10 pts each?
Proj. (0-5) 15 pts each?
Attend (0-5) 5 pts each?

You will need to set a plan for your remaining five units. You will be able to steer the direction of your individual course of study.

Group Members: Benzel, Khalil, Chiedu, Jayson

This is our updated tutorial for the Zoom H2N Recorder, as it relates to external transducers. Both for dynamic and capacitor (also known as condenser) microphones (transducers), keeping in mind that that this Zoom recorder isn’t directly designed to facilitate an XLR connected microphone. We hope you enjoy and understand.
