LYRICAL TAG

For this audio assignment I decided to do Music Tag which you have to create a story by using audio snippets from song. The trick to this assignment is that every last word of that song have to be the first word to start your next song. Also, we have to try an include genres or decades. Now I did not exactly create a story but I did follow the rest of the assignment. Believe it or not, finding the last word for each song was not easy.

The first person was Marina and The Diamonds , you would think she sing songs back in the days but she do not, she is only only twenty-eight. The song I chose from her is Lies which came out in 2012:

Lies, don’t wanna know, don’t wanna know oh
I can’t let you go, can’t let you go oh
I just want it to be perfect
To believe it’s all been worth the fight
Lies, don’t wanna know, don’t

The second person I chose is Kirk Franklin who is a gospel artist, one of my favorite artist. The song I chose was Don’t Cry (2002):

Don’t cry
Wipe your eyes
He’s not dead
(ohh, ohh, ohh, ohh)
Don’t weep
He’s not asleep
Jehovah
He’s not dead

The next time person is from ATL, I find him as one the greatest artist out here, the person I choose is T.I. The song I chose was Dead and Song (2008):

dead and gone, dead and gone
And oh (eyyy)
I’ve been travellin’ on this road too long (too long)
Just tryna find my way back home (back home)
The old me is dead and gone, dead and gone, dead and gone

Now you know in every generation from the oldies to now and probably in the future there is always going to be a boy band, if you feel say hell yea: HELL YEA (lol)…Now this boy band been around for a good while and we know one of them as a solo artist Justin Timberlake. If anybody know which band he was in that means you been around long enough. The next artist or should I say former group ‘N SYNC. The song I chose was Gone (2001):

gone..
You’re gone..
Baby you’re gone
Girl you’re gone, baby girl, you’re gone..
You’re gone..
You’re…

I don’t wanna make excuses, baby
Won’t change the fact that you’re gone
But if there’s something that I could do
Won’t you please let

'N_Sync

Last but not atleast, I fell in love with this guy voice when I first heard Just a Friend and C’mon which I both love. This artist went from having braids to having a hair cut. Who Am I Talking About? I am talking about Mario..The song I chose from him is Let Me Love You( 2004)

Let me be the one to give you everything you want and need
Baby good love and protection
Make me your selection
Show you the way love’s supposed to be
Baby you should let me love you, love you, love you, love you

  1. I thought your Lyrical song tag was very creative, there was many perspective from one word. I thought the one word that really seemed like the theme and core of this song was gone? Or maybe I’m just over thinking but, From three songs I hear the word emphasize. For example even though the word gone was not said in the song Don’t Cry by Kirk Franklin, the lyrics seemed to have implied that ‘someone’ is not dead and not asleep. I suppose this someone is still alive? Since it’s a gospel song I suppose this someone is god? The next song that emphasized on dead and gone, was Dead and Song by T.I and the person that the song is trying to tell is dead seems to be his old self. The song that N’SYNC sang was Gone, which talked about the girl the man love is gone.
One of my favorite part of your project was the many ways a single term could be used in all kinds of setting. It can also portray different characters. What I would say that confused me was that thought the lyric did connect in its words, the meaning kept changing. The word was used in so many ways, metaphorically, to the self, to the 3rd person and so on. It was hard for me to catch on. But your concept has been a interesting mix none-the-less.
